Online Freedom: At What Price ?
The use of Internet is a daily ritual for most of us. For many, the internet serves as an enabler helping one to engage with oneself as well as with multiple voices of the world at large. As the democratising potential of this resource is immense, it is likely that state entities will step in to prevent its misuse.
However, the issue of where the line is drawn regarding its use and misuse and to what extent must the state intervene to regulate it continues to baffle most. This article thus attempts to address this issue in the Indian digital eco-system by tracking the contestation that has ensued between the citizenry and the state over the Internet.
