Crime and Violence on TV

Summary :

The petition seeks to curb the excess of crime, violence and sex on TV. The Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has been forced to submit a personal affidavit on the compliance of various directions given by the Court in the matter, which stands tagged with a bunch of petitions, including our petition against bar on news broadcast by private radio stations. The Court directed the Government on September 29, 2014 to file an affidavit showing the steps it intended to take to address the issue and indicate the time frame by which an analogous policy, if any, was to be implemented. There are no further orders of listing.
