Police Response to the Pandemic - A rapid survey of migrant and aid workers
Common Cause undertook a rapid study to evaluate the role of the police - their attitude, preparedness and overall performance during the 50-day lockdown in India.
This study is an attempt to understand health crisis in India and the role played by the police during the lockdown, through the eyes of those who had daily contact with them during this period. They were the aid workers and volunteers providing food, rations and other forms of assistance to the needy, and the migrant workers, who were stranded with- out jobs or money and were forced to go back to their home states or villages. The study covers a limited geo- graphical area comprising parts of Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
