LATEST SUPREME COURT ORDERS

The court directed that sealing continue subject to recommendations of the monitoring Committee which include:

• Banquet halls to be permitted only in industrial areas, not residential colonies.

• Residents be permitted to use 25 per cent of permissible ground coverage area or 50 sq.m.(whichever is less) in some areas and the entire permissible ground coverage on the ground floor.

• Professionals such as lawyers, doctors and CAs be permitted to use 25 per cent of floor area in residential plots and flats.

• Nursery schools, crèches, gyms, yoga centers could be allowed in colonies.

• • The court also asked the committee to define the concept of small-shop. It then listed the matter for further hearing on July 17.
